5 MILES EASY RECOVERY RUN @9:46 AVG PACE

Great run today. Had the pleasure of running w Hubby as my Dad was able to watch the kids!! Legs felt strong today, no lathargy at all!! Had a peanut butter and honey sandwich on Whole Wheat bread about 45min before the run, and had nothing to drink during the run. Wasn't thirsty at all during the run. Pushed the hills, as shown by my HR, but again, no huffing and puffing, and hit the planned splits

Temp said 69F and 64% humidity. Just a gorgeous day and great run

Plan for today was 5 miles @9:45

During the marathon itself I drink ade's every three miles, about 6-8 ounces, unless it's warmer than usual or if my thrist mechanism tells me to drink.

During marathon training on the roads I do the same as the marathon...drink ade's every three miles or when I'm thirsty (always trust your thirst)

During the Summer months I'm training on the gym's treadmills and must take a different strategy...the treadmills are on the second floor ABOVE the swimming pools, therefore, not only is it 76 degrees it's also humid...I'll drink ade's every two miles as I'm using lots of fluids (easy to see as I'm a soaking wet mess).

Currently I've been drinking Gatorade that was the same beverage during last year's marathon. This year it's owned by Rock n Roll and they'll have Cytomax on the course...something I have yet to find. It's essential you adapt to the drink that's being offered on the course.
