6 MILE RECOVERY RUN @ 9:27 AVG PACE

Plan: 6 miles @ 9:30pace

Temp said 64F and there was no humidity. Ran around the pond 3x and up past Camp Alvernia (where the hills are). Fantastic run. Legs felt really strong, and I never broke a sweat. I felt like I could run forever.

I did not drink anything during this run and I was never thirsty at all. I did down a 20oz G2 gatorade (cherry) when I got home, but again, never thirsty during the run. Woo Hoo:)!!

I never wear a fuel belt during my races...doesn't make sense when races have water stops at every mile. Many runners are worried about the extra weight of their racing shoes, their body weight, etc, then wear 10 pounds of supplies during the race. Not wearing a fuel belt would probably save your about 10 seconds per mile, you won't chaff as much, and your legs and joints won't suffer as much without the extra pounding due to the extra weight.

Oh yeah, another idea to determine your hydration needs is to weigh yourself just before your run...and then weigh yourself immediately after your run. Every pounds you lost is equal to about 16 ounces of fluids that needed to be replaced.
